The prices are all wrong! You paid a dollar and you had the whole meal. Toward my graduation year in the Mid90s, it was two dollars. For the whole meal! And, maybe it’s because I grew up in Texas but, we didn’t have beef macaroni. We had chili Mac! Much better! I miss a lot of these. I understand the reason they’re gone is because of one Michelle Obama. We thought our lunches were bad. I feel sorry for what my kids eat at school. My son tells me they give him kale salad. Senator Kennedy of Louisiana, somebody I very rarely agree with, actually described it accurately when he said that kale taste like “I’d rather be fat.”

Still eat beef liver and onions, chicken livers, catfish, fried green tomatoes, and chow chow. Never ate any of the other foods though. Not sure I'd want to eat many of them either 🤢

I still eat a lot of that , grew up poor , we raised it we ate it just cause I’m white doesn’t mean it was easy , every time I hear or see people talking about slavery it’s easy to see they really don’t know history every race has been slaves, whites more than any other , people should read and learn instead of repeating democrat talking points

Guessing most are pretty regional- never heard of many of these.

I'm 35, and alot of these foods that apparently fell out of popularity before I was born, I still make or feel are fairly common in modern times.

"Losing it's local identity".....Olympia (oly) was a great beer, but it was bought out by Budweiser, like so many other regional beers, and Bud watered down the recipe and made it horse urine like most of their beers and taught the American public that horse urine was actually normal taste; sort of like Starbucks who took cheap beans, over roasted them and convinced millions that his was great coffee, when most of the world would spit it out in disgust.

National Bohemian was also very big in the D. C. area, especially among the younger drinkers (18-20). Had to be 21 in nearby VA. And Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) was the official/unofficial beer of the U.S. Navy's Submarine Service in the 70s & 80s, and still popular with us.

My favorite beer is a German beer. Schlitz came out with its original 1950s recipe about 15 years ago and it tastes great. I found an imported German beer recently at my fav liquor store. Unfortunately, only a few six packs were ordered, but fortunately I am the only person buying them.
